Tony and the Roundabout Quintet have been playing together in one incarnation or another for about 10 years.
They play a blend of vocal swing, American songbook, blues, Latin, early jazz tunes and a little bit of rock ‘n roll. Tony Petrillo, vocalist, guitarist and band leader, has wandered from the solo singer-songwriter format through Cajun and swamp pop and into swing, jazz, blues and everything in between.
George Radebaugh, versatile on piano and accordion, fills out the sound with his percussive and expressive keyboard. Dirk Anderson on bass locks down the bottom with a solid pulse and swinging rhythm.
Tom Svornich, drummer extraordinaire, keeps time on the skins. And Kurt Festinger, the Professor, comes out of the LA studio scene and fattens out the sound with his crisp and fluid solo work on tenor saxophone and clarinet. These guys don’t only play up a storm but a couple of these guys can really tear it up on the dance floor as well.
